Assembly guide

Posted by Chris Chambers at May 09. 2008

Assembly guide:  All component fabrication (forming, welding, etc) is done by subcontractors working from the part drawings.  The only things done inhouse are final assembly - the spanner work - and drilling of holes for optional fixtures such as body jets. Felton have no manufacturing process instructions for the subcontractor work, and from my own experience the subcontractor probably don't either.  For low volume stuff like this it's usually made by experienced tradespeople who can look at a drawing and figure out how to make it without needing further instructions.  Likewise Felton's inhouse stuff - final assembly - is done from the part and assembly drawings with no further work instructions.
