After graduating with MSc Chem. Eng from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden, Charlotta joined the Swedish Trade Council in Paris – working with a number of different Swedish companies that wanted to establish or develop their businesses in France. After a couple of years as a consultant in France she took up an academic position at Linkoping University, Sweden. Charlotta’s PhD research concerned ‘integrated solutions’ in the capital goods sector, and focused on product innovations (enabling increased process control of customer’s processes) and business innovations (changing the firms’ business models and customer approach). In 2007, Charlotta received her PhD in Industrial Management. In parallel to her research, Charlotta lectured at undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as at Executive courses, within the areas of Industrial Management and Organisation, Project Management, Leadership Studies and Team Work. In February 2008, Charlotta joined the ‘Innovationz’ project as a post doctoral research fellow. Charlotta is located in the Business School and her responsibilities to the project are within both lecturing and applied research. With her multidisciplinary background she contributes to the development of MGMT 305 and hopes to strengthen the project’s links to the Business School. In the research area, she aims to initiate a study identifying and analysing new innovation opportunities and challenges for SMEs in New Zealand – in the context of global climate change and sustainability issues.
