Chris Chambers
After graduating with BEng(Hons) in '89 Chris started his own company in the marine industry based on his award winning final year design project. This caused a big shake up in the industry niche of America's Cup winch systems. Even with full order books the cash strapped business was forced to sell the designs to the major player in the market in '93 and Chris pursued a consulting career which in '94 brought him to become Engineering Manager at Maxwell Marine for a year which became ten. Chris has been credited with saving Maxwell with the crash development of the Freedom windlass that remains the company's best seller today. Ten years later and now a New Zealand citizen Chris returned to design consulting and joined the GIPI project as a part time advisor and contributor. Initial circumstances presented the development of Mgmt305 and this is where Chris' main efforts have been directed but the intention remains to play a lead role in industry liaison.
